Last night was our Open House Night at
Millers Creek. I met 18 of my 21
kids and their families. Fourth
graders are awesome at Open House.
I guess I am used to knowing that little seven year olds will stare
blankly at you and hold on to their parent/guardian. Nine-year-olds, however, expel information about what they
hope to learn, their summer adventures and how cool their new classroom looks.
I had an awesome time talking to parents, guardians, and my new not-so-little
ones.
Here are some pictures of my finished
room. I have my fourth grade team,
boyfriend, and roommate to thank for getting this all set up in no time!
This is a Twitter Board I created
outside my door. I think I will
use this for kids to respond to learning.
I’m going to teach them about #hashtags and use those for the main ideas/key
details/ subjects.
This is a duct tape quilt I created. I put a 2-D iPad in each student’s bag. During the first week of school I’m
going to have them create “apps” that describe them and we will present to the
class!
Happy Weekend!
